The Stylist's Guide turn T H R E E

Who would’ve thought our third year in business would be the most memorable year of our lives… They say that if you make it past three years in business, that’s when you really start to reap the rewards, however we think if you make it to your third birthday amidst a pandemic, then you’ve outdone yourself really.

2020 has been a year full of uncertainties. Restrictions have kept us on our toes, while the ever changing rules around events have driven both us and our clients a little bit insane. There’s one thing however that we have remained certain about though, and it’s that The Stylist’s Guide wouldn’t be where we are today without the support of our family and friends.

To celebrate our third birthday, we have decided to highlight THREE of our favourite things we have achieved in our third year of biz - so read on to find out!

In February, just before covid showed up to ruin the party, we celebrated our little babe’s baptism - an event we poured out heart and soul into to create one very special day for our little man. Collaborating with some of our favourite local suppliers, we worked around the clock to create an original concept that is still a standout as one of our favourite events.

One of the things we are most excited and grateful for this year is how we were able to help a number of beautiful couples tie the knot, amidst so much uncertainty that this year has thrown them. We were there to support and guide our couples throughout the time of ever changing event restrictions - helping with venue changes, guest list changes, supplier negotiations, and of course, keeping them sane!

One of these couples was Georgia and Chris, who were probably our worst affected couple thoughout the pandemic (aside from all of our brides who post-poned), as their wedding was smack bang in the middle of lockdown… but they remained steadfast, and ended up having a celebration that was perfect for them.

Originally planning to wed at the historic Marybank Farm, nestled in Adelaide’s scenic foothills - a guest list of 92 soon became five, thanks to the newly instated laws around social distancing. Georgia, her Dad, new husband Chris, celebrant and photographer were now the only attendees, after a week and a half deciding whether or not to go ahead with their wedding plans.

Lucky for her, our team were right there by Georgia and Chris’ side, ready to answer all of their wedding related queries throughout this period.

“Not only was Alyse [from The Stylist’s Guide] the backbone for me still standing during this period, she was my soul sister in just ‘knowing’ where our heads were at with this entire process,” Georgia says.

This year’s mother’s day was special, as our director Alyse celebrated her first year as a Mum. As we were all locked in iso this year, we put our top tips together to help you style your own Mother’s Day celebration at home, and we are so glad to see a number of our lovely followers did!

We were also lucky enough to collaborate with one of our fave Adelaide party hire companies - Modern Party - to create something special with their new range of furniture available for hire. We incorporated a natural palette, using tonal colours, gorgeous dried florals and some gold cutlery to tie it all together - the perfect set-up for Mum, or an upcoming event you may be having at home.
