Our trip to a mystery destination

The Stylist’s Guide is lucky enough to be invited to organise all kinds of special occasions and be part of making special memories for all of our clients and their guests. Recently we took a trip to Mount Gambier as we were privileged enough to partner with the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) to encapsulate the true essence of South Australia.

In a year when international travel seemed only like a distant vision, the SATC has launched a new campaign showcasing the incredible natural locations from around the great state of South Australia ‘For Those Who Want A Little More’.

Last month, some special guests were invited to a mystery destination, they hopped on a plane without knowing where they would end up. Upon arrival, they were treated to an exclusive lunch under the gorgeous marquee with a lush greenery backdrop. The set-up displayed a beautiful array of florals and tablescapes for the Reward Wonder Launch at Kilsby Sinkhole, in Mount Gambier.

TSG Director, Alyse Vozzo drove up with her husband from Adelaide, with napery, florals and all styling goods in tow. This was the first time Alyse spent time away from her 2-year-old son Santi for more than one night. She stayed Friday and Saturday night to treasure the beauty of Mount Gambier.

We worked with an amazing on-site team which made the process an enjoyable whirlwind experience. “We were so happy to be teamed up with local brands such as Adelaide Flower House, JAKS Hire and Events, Modern Party Hire and Soul projects. Our ideas bounced off one another seamlessly and our vision became a reality” Says Alyse.

Knowing that media, influencers and South Aussie tastemakers were going to attend the event, from Masterchef contestant Laura Sharrad to much-loved South Aussie personality Matt Gilbertson, we made sure that every little detail was perfect, as these people would be posting and sharing for all to see.

When it comes to colour schemes, we love simplicity, minimalism and the combination of seasonal tones. Alyse wanted to involve rustic tones with a chic atmosphere to further showcase the beautiful outdoor environment where the event was held. To explore this idea further, TSG used an array of autumnal and winter colours to demonstrate the seasonal change. The colours of the display range from soft pastel peachy tones, to royal reds. The incorporation of the subtle mix, with diverse hues of greens, immerses the guests in the natural beauty that region pertains.

The elegant table linen, plates and glasses are complementary colours of our off-white and clear with rose gold cutlery, which curated the perfect amount of simplicity for the obvious standout – the floral marquee.

The Kilsby Sinkhole provided the perfect backdrop for styling as we had the added beauty of a natural surroundings that I drew from the Limestone Coast.
